Frequently asked questions.

Why do I have to refrigerate it?

With fresh juice and no preservatives, Coast and Float beverages have to be kept refrigerated in order to not spoil.  Keep your cans cold until you are ready to drink and avoid letting them sit in the sun for too long while enjoying.

How long does it last?

The expiration date on the can will let you when the beverage needs to be consumed.  Without preservatives, Coast and Float beverages won’t have a shelf life as long as other canned products you might buy.  Check the date on the label located on the bottom of every can and be sure to keep the drinks refrigerated (or on ice in the cooler) until you drink it.

What do I see floating in the drinks?

That’s the sediment, aka the good stuff from the juicing process. We intentionally retain fiber from the fruits when we juice. Including this fiber helps your body digest the sugar from the fruits. It also helps better control blood sugar spikes that typically happen if sugars (even when natural) get consumed quickly.  While these beverages are still an indulgence, we attempt to make it as low-guilt as possible, without sacrificing taste.

Why does the label say to gently tip the can?

The sentiment from the fruit will naturally settle to the bottom. Gently tipping the can back and forth a few times will evenly distribute the sentiment. Just remember, Coast and Float beverages are carbonated, so make sure you’re not shaking the can…unless you want an explosion.

With no added sugar, how do you sweeten Coast and Float beverages?

Coast and Float sweetens its beverages with maple syrup. We use pure, Michigan maple syrup in all of our products.  The amount varies based on the type of drink.  We chose maple syrup over other sweeteners because it’s natural, available for us to source in Michigan and it has a lower glycemic index than refined sugars.

Why is ginger a part of every drink?

When we originally started Coast and Float, we were using it as a non-alcoholic cocktail.  We wanted something to be able to sip slowly, we wanted the flavors to be complex and we loved the gentle burn that fresh ginger contributes to a drink. We also loved all the health benefits of ginger, most particularly as a natural digestive and energy booster.  We couldn’t find ginger drinks anywhere else like this on the market. Every other ginger drink felt heavily diluted, tasted artificial and was frequently paired with tons of sugar. Coast and Float beverages puts the emphasis on the ginger and let all its natural benefits shine. That’s why we’re a sparkling ginger beverage company and why our mascot is named Ginger. It’s core to who we are and what we love.

What does the reference to being fresh pressed mean?

You will see “fresh pressed” on our logo or you might hear that reference when we describe our products. We use these words to let you know that all Coast and Float beverages get their vibrant flavors from the fruits we press ourselves.  We source our ingredients from Michigan distributors and farms whenever possible and we brew all of our products with individual care and attention. We press the fruits to extract as much flavor and nutrients as possible and bring that to you in every pour.

Are Coast and Float beverages pasteurized?

Coast and Float beverages are all pasteurized.  We don’t want you to have to worry about illness or whether or not the beverage is safe for you to consume.  Coast and Float still must be kept refrigerated.  This is essential to keeping the beverages safe and fresh.

Can I place Coast and Float orders online?

Not currently. We are currently focused on distributing and connecting with the community that inspired us to launch Coast and Float. You can find us in Harbor Country, Michigan and follow-us on social for updates.
